UPGRADING EXISTING APPLIANCES:

Please take VERY careful note of the deprecation/deletion information and special upgrade process that applies to this version, both in the Release Notes. Also see: upgrading appliances.

Upgrade file for v6.1.6

SDPCTL has been fully released now and includes UPGRADE commands that will orchestrate the process from your desktop. SDPCTL is available for all main desktop platforms. SDPCTL should be used to perform upgrades from v6.0.

Clients and appliances within the same SDP version are always compatible - so a 5.4.1 Client and 5.4.4 appliance would be fully compatible. Client backwards compatibility is guaranteed for (at least) two SDP versions, so a 6.0 Client would work against a 5.4 server.
 

FOR WINDOWS:

Full, Headless, Always-on, Multi-user and SSO/PLAP all use the same Client installer with install-time options. The installers require PowerShell.
NOTE: Servers require the use of Headless or Multi-user Clients.

Windows Client v6.1.4

The Windows Client is available as Lite which has its own Lite Client installer and can also be provisioned from the Client launch page.

Windows Lite Client v6.1.4

Full Support is provided for:

• Windows 10 or 11
• Server 2016 or newer

These all require to be 64 bit and fully updated with the latest patches.

Qualified Support is provided for the following Associated Systems versions:

• Windows 11 on Arm hardware.

The Client has been tested and appears to work satisfactorily under Arm64EC. Native Arm support will follow later when all the required 3rd party libraries used in the Client become available.

FOR MACOS:

The macOS Client is available as Full, Headless and Always-on types all of which use the same installer. The installer will install an installer for the Headless and Always-on types.

macOS Client v6.1.4

Full Support is provided for only the following Associated Systems versions:

• macOS from 10.15.7 to 12.x

Qualified Support is provided for the following Associated Systems versions:

• macOS 11 & 12 on Apple M1 hardware.

The driver is now a universal binary, The service has been tested and appears to work satisfactorily using Rosetta 2. 
Full support is coming after 2021 when all the 3rd party libraries used in the Client become available for the M1 hardware.

FOR LINUX:

The Linux Client is available as Full and Headless types. There are separate installers for these two options. See the admin guide for details.
