Appgate Selected as Enterprise-Class Zero Trust Network Access Provider for DXC Technology's New Security Solution
Appgate SDP, used internally by DXC for network transformation and secure access, now available to DXC customers
MIAMI (Dec. 12, 2023) – Appgate (OTC:APGT), the secure access company, today announced that DXC Technology (NYSE:DXC), a leading Fortune 500 global IT services provider, has selected Appgate as a Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) provider for its new Zero Trust Framework solution for its worldwide customer base.
This extends a technology innovation relationship forged in April 2022 when DXC selected Appgate’s ZTNA solution to support its internal large-scale strategic network transformation initiative. By deploying Appgate SDP, DXC quickly and efficiently reduced its network attack surface, secured direct connections to application environments, and limited user ability to laterally traverse the network. In addition, DXC realized significant ROI through downsizing multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) networks and consolidating VPNs and other legacy remote access solutions under a centralized and unified ZTNA framework.
With more than 130,000 employees working in over 70 countries, DXC is responsible for providing some of the world’s largest companies with seamless and secure access solutions to a wide range of applications and environments that are critical to their business operations. After realizing the benefits of Appgate SDP, DXC decided to take the solution to its customers.
“It has been great working with DXC on its network transformation initiative. It’s now an honor to be a trusted ZTNA provider for DXC’s Zero Trust Framework solution,” said Appgate CEO and President Leo Taddeo. “This trust underscores why enterprises, federal agencies, and our channel and service integration partners use our direct-routed ZTNA solution to solve network security complexities, enable business agility, and reduce costs.”
“We’ve leveraged Appgate SDP to execute our own ambitious network transformation goals, better safeguard our resources, reduce connectivity costs, and modernize secure network access for our employees connecting from anywhere at any time to our internal applications and resources,” said Mark Hughes, President, DXC Security. “Now we’re extending those benefits to our customers by offering ZTNA powered by Appgate SDP in our new Zero Trust Framework solution.”
Appgate SDP is one of the few direct-routed ZTNA solutions on the market today. Key differentiators include:
- Direct-routed and self-hosted: Built on architecture without a cloud proxy, enabling full control of how data traverses the network and secures users and resources across hybrid infrastructure
- Business ROI and cost savings: Replaces and reduces outdated, insecure legacy access and network technologies; decreases security administrative overhead, delivery times, and operational challenges
- Universal Zero Trust architecture: Adheres to the Zero Trust security model; continuously verifies and authenticates any users and devices connecting to any resources, anywhere
- Contextual access control: Grants access based on user identity, device security, location, and other contextual factors; offers granular resource control
- Microperimeters: Supports all ports and protocols with fine-grained policy model
- Programmable and adaptable: Ties access to security events or business processes with rich inbound and outbound APIs for data and event integration
- Simplified management: Provides a centralized interface to configure and monitor access policies for easier security control enforcement across the network
- Multi-cloud support: Extends secure access capabilities to resources hosted in multiple heterogenous cloud environments.
The proven security and business benefits of Appgate SDP were recently quantified through research with commercial and federal customers as reported in the 2023 Nemertes Driving Value Through ZTNA study.
